Brandon's Biography

A photo’s Image,

          Silent and swift

Moments captured,

          Fills the rift.

Brandon Clark has been an artist all his life.  But contrary to the common perception of what an artist is, he is an artist with technology as well as with various traditional mediums.  At an early age he doodled to pass the time.  Growing up, part of his curriculum was to do sketches in pencil on a weekly basis.  These school exercises enabled him to really examine what was being drawn and taught him to see the shape, form and outline of the subject at hand.

He received his first computer at an early age, at the time computers still utilized MS Dos as the operating system.  Almost intuitively he began to master the basics of the digital revolution.  And it was only natural that this early introduction to the digital world sparked a passion for technology.  As a young teen he bought his first “real camera”, a Nikon film SLR.

Shape, form and outline are some of the core elements of photography.  The lessons learned early-on in drawing and painting allowed him to naturally compose photos of elegance and depth, While his significant grasp of science and technology allowed him to rapidly gain skill with the basics of exposure.

During high school and college his camera never left his side and a rough estimate puts the number of photos taken with his first camera at close to 20,000 frames.  When digital SLR’s became more affordable to the common individual he purchased his first:  A Nikon D100.  From there on out his learning increased exponentially, especially in the realm of digital photography and in it’s modern applications.

Brandon’s first full time job was as a lab tech at one of the largest, most advanced imaging companies in the US while they still processed hundreds of rolls per day.  This is where he really started to learn color theory as it pertains to film.  College had taught him much about black and white photography but a lack of funds limited his color photography courses.  Then with the advent of nearly universal high quality digital compact cameras the age of the digital lab raced in with a bang!  As with the D100, Brandon’s grasp on the digital arts enabled him to become an excellent resource for customers to gain knowledge from.

For the last two and a half years he has been a photographic instructor for all levels of photographers, from the first time camera owner to the multi decade veteran of cameras and equipment.  Intense joy is gained from seeing the dawning comprehension on people’s faces while he helps them with photography.

Now Brandon’s Experience has culminated with this web site.  “It’s a new experience for me; I have never published any of my notes before”.  Brandon hopes that you find the information on this site useful and inspiring.  Perhaps it will encourage more people to attempt art and force their minds to really see what is before them.
